Here we go again!

The waiting is over – the SWATCH World Tour is finally on, kicking off in Brazil with the Brasilia Open 2012.

In a country known for hosting great parties, this event is already living up to expectations with the music loud and pumping at 8am! For the female athletes the tour began this Sunday with the country quota. FIVB Hero Maria Clara Salgado, playing this season with new partner Raquel Pelluci, made her way through the qualification rounds to the main draw where she will meet fellow FIVB Heroes Jen Kessy and April Ross this Tuesday.

All other female FIVB Heroes will be on court today playing their opening matches of the tournament. Win or lose they will all return to the court later to determine their future in the competition.

For our male FIVB Heroes, the battle starts on Thursday – check out FIVBHeroes.com for all the latest draws, results, news and much more.

There is also an environmental aspect to this year’s tournament in Brazil – for  the first time a sustainability plan will be implemented aiming to compensate for all green house gases emitted during the event. After all, sports and nature and health go hand in hand.

The show has only just begun – keep following FIVBHeroes.com to stay up to date with all the latest court-side news from our FIVB heroes throughout the week.
