The Men’s Tour Returns to Olympic Sands

Six teams comprising our Heroes are ready to go into battle for $300,000 prize money, hundreds of ranking points and the honour of holding the trophy after the final on Sunday, 13 May.

For Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser it will be a return to the place of their biggest success in a career full of titles. The Olympic Champions from Beijing were the best team back then and remain firmly on top of their game. Winning two out of two events they have played so far this year, they enter this competition as all but undisputed favourites.

Their perennial rivals Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego will of course do everything in their power to stop the Americans, a feat they achieved several times last summer. Alison was still suffering from an injury last week, but beach volleyball fans can look forward to seeing him rule the net again.

Another well known and probably one of the most charismatic players of them all is back in the sand: Julius Brink, German European Champion and former World Champion, can be admired digging balls again. His partner Jonas Reckermann is still out of play due to his shoulder problems, but Julius found a worthy replacement in Sebastian Fuchs.

Our Spanish Heroes Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira will also try to get their second medals this year, after a bronze finish in Poland against Italian Paolo Nicolai.

Paolo as well as the Chinese Heroes Linyin Xu and Penggen Wu are aiming for their first podium finish this year. The Chinese in particular will be very motivated to put in a strong performance with the support of their home crowd.

As always we will provide all the infos you need, so stay tuned for all the news on your favourite FIVB Heroes!
