Unstoppable Sheilla is off to London!

A very special gift to the proud mothers of Brazil on this international day  in their honour!

A prestigious achievement that meant first dispatching the semi-finals on Saturday, where Brazil met Venezuela. As in the previous games, our FIVB Hero squad put their best players on the court to triumph in another 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-15, 25-23), and Sheilla was the best scorer of the match with 16 points!

In the other semi-final, Peru and Colombia fought a fierce battle. Led by an incredible performance of Montaño, Colombia closed in on victory when they scored 14-11 in the tie-break. But the young Peruvians weren’t ready to give up and managed a remarkable recovery, winning the game 3-2 (25-19, 15-25, 22-25, 25-11, 17-15) to face Brazil in the all-important final.

But on Sunday, even the highly motivated Peruvians were no match for what everyone could see was an incredibly determined Sheilla: with her teammates she stomped to an impressive 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-9) victory! Milton Olaio Filho gym in São Carlos erupted in a joyful celebration as the Brazilian girls partied with their fans. Castro and her team ended the tournament undefeated, not even losing one single set, which sees them head to London with great confidence. Their goal is clear: defend the title from Beijing 2008 and  bring home the gold once more.
