The European League was created in 2009 and since then Serbia has reigned supreme, winning the title in all the three previous editions of the competition. FIVB Hero Jovana Brakocevic participated in the last two final four, proving herself vital to Serbia’s success, with 61 points scored in four matches.
Serbia’s first challenge this year will be against Bulgaria in the semifinals. The fans are awaiting the encounter with great anticipation, as both teams finished the preliminary phase unbeaten. The winners of the European League’s semifinals will not only secure themselves the chance to fight for gold on Friday, but will also guarantee themselves place in next year’s World Grand Prix!
In the other semifinal hosts the Czech Republic will face the Netherlands, who will be without FIVB Hero Manon Flier, who is taking a break from national duties following a long club season.
All matches will be streamed live at www.laola1.tv.
