Olympic FIVB Heroes – Destinee Hooker

Destinee Hooker is a star of team USA and one of the most talented players in the world. Part of the national team since the 2010 World Championships in Japan she has always demonstrated sporting prowess, possibly trying to emulate her older sister Marshevet, who was a champion in the long jump, sprints and relays at university and competed in the 2008 Olympics.  Her impressive performances have helped her team win gold medals at the World Grand Prix in 2010 and 2011 (where she was named MVP) and the 2011 NORCECA Championships as well as a silver medal at the 2011 World Cup (named Best Spiker). Following two silver medals (1984 and 2008) and a bronze (1992), Destinee will be attempting to lead the team to their first Olympic gold medal at the London 2012 Games.
