Olympic FIVB Heroes – Julius Brink & Jonas Reckermann

One of the smaller players on the tour, Julius Brink demonstrates perfectly that ball control, technique and intelligence are more important than pure height. Teaming up with Jonas Reckermann in 2009 they won the World Championships in Stavanger and started an unbelievable run, remaining undefeated for 25 consecutive matches – still a world record. Although unable to play many matches this year due to Jonas’ shoulder injury, they still managed to defend their European Champions title in their very first event this summer, which bodes well for their bid for an Olympic medal.
