FIVB Hero Murilo Endres looking to break a curse

FIVB Hero Murilo Endres can add one more gold medal to his extensive collection. On Monday his team took the title of Paulista Championship winners, and SESI is now, for the third time (2009-2011-2012), the best team in the state of São Paulo.

As the captain of his squad, Murilo helped his teammates to overcome some difficult moments. After losing the first final match against Medley Campinas in a tie-break, he used the home ground advantage to turn things around. With two 3-0 victories in a row, Murilo’s fans erupted with joy and he claimed the championship for the second year running.

“We stepped in very focused, we played aggressively, with a good attitude inside court. We served well, we could vary our attacks a lot and, most of all, we made few mistakes. We played a great game and beat a quality opponent in a tough final series, all are to be congratulated”, said the FIVB Hero after the last game.

Murilo is now ready for his next challenge, the Brazilian League, which starts in November. And he will try to change history and break a curse, as the only time SESI won the National Competition in 2010, was the exactly the same year Murilo and his teammates didn’t win the Paulista Championship.
