CEV Cup is closer to FIVB Hero Destinee Hooker!

The first final match of CEV Challenge Cup between Italian Rebecchi Nordmeccanica Piacenza and Russian Dinamo Krasnodar with FIVB Hero Destinee Hooker finished in five breathtaking sets with our Hero celebrating the victory and the best scorer award with 25 points.

The first final of the Challenge Cup went to Russia with a great performance by the whole team. It took five thrilling sets for the winning team to triumph, but our Hero Destinee took the points to reach the Cup that will take place on Sunday in Krasnodar.

From the start the Italians showed their excellent form by winning the first set 25-17, but the Russian girls took the control of the match winning the second and the third set (25-20, 26-24) thanks to FIVB Hero Hooker whose percentage in attack just got better and better. If the FIVB Hero thought the match was over, it was too early – the Italians came back and won the fourth set easily 25-13 to stretch the match to a fifth set.

The tiebreak was full of emotions with Piacenza starting well but after the Russians took control of the set thanks to the spikes of our FIVB Hero Destinee who was named best scorer with 25 points and also MVP of the match! After the match Destinee tweeted: “Great win ladies!!!!! Dinamo beats Piacenza 3-2. Next round is March 24th in Krasnodar. Let’s go Dinamo!!!!!”
