The year of 2012 has seen many achievements for our beach volleyball FIVB Heroes, including a seventh World Tour title for the Brazilian stars Juliana and Larissa and many individual awards.

A very special beach volleyball event recently took place in Macapá, Brazil. The challenge marked the last match together for the American heroes Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser, who took on fellow FIVB Hero, Maria Clara Salgado, who was on the opposing team.

The Mammoth and silver medalist in the 2012 Olympic Games in London suffered an infection in his left foot and had to have emergency surgery this Wednesday, but the Brazilian Hero has recovered from the shock and is doing well.

After the Olympic Games, the beach volleyball FIVB Heroes return to normal at the Mazury Orlen Grand Slam in Stare Jabłonki, Poland. However, since several men’s teams decided to take a break after London 2012, only two FIVB Heroes teams are left to play at this week’s tour stop.
