Brazilian FIVB Olympic Heroes Larrisa Franca and Juliana Felisberta Da Silva sealed their place in the quarterfinals after beating the Dutch duo Madelein Meppelink and Sophie van Gestel in straight sets 2-0 (21-10, 21-17).

Day one marked the beginning of the action in Pools A, B and C. Brazilian FIVB Heroes Larrisa Franca and Juliana Felisberta Da Silva were off to a great start, winning 2-0 (21-5, 21-10) against Mauritians Li Yuk Lo and FIVB Hero Natasha Rigobert.
